ONWARDS AND ÜPWARDS FOR 3 NEW APPRENTICES

At ÜP we believe the future belongs to the young generation, this is one reason why we have decided to employ apprentices. With a good education, a positive attitude, an imagination to create, the desire to listen and learn, will mean plenty of opportunities to succeed within our own business and the wider industry.

In April 2021 we are delighted to welcome three new apprentices; two upholsterer trainees; Evan and Harvey, as well as a trainee seamstress; Daisy, who is joining ÜP later in the month.

Evan and Harvey have already added the energy and vigour that comes with youth to our team of skilled craftspeople. They have both settled in extremely well and their characters are starting to show. During initial conversations with Evan and Harvey the feedback from them so far is…

“My first week at ÜP has been amazing, all of the staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful”.

“The training provided and the explanations given to me has been brilliant, I’m learning and developing new skills daily, I’m really enjoying the experience and opportunity with up-sofas”

Daisy who is joining up with us later in the month..

“cannot wait to get started with us particularly after the lockdowns and disruption caused by coronavirus”.

All three trainees are looking forward to learning and developing skills and the knowledge that comes with spending the time working within their chosen trade and as an employer we’ll give them all ample opportunity and total commitment to carve out the best possible career for themselves.

“I’m a firm believer in young people needing role models, not critics.” Andrew Heeks, Operations Director at ÜP
